A special survey conducted some time back revealed that cases relating to cardiovascular system disorders are the maximum followed by musculoskeletal disorders, metabolic disorders and reproductive system disorders.
Business & Commerce
The prosperity of a community is linked to its businesses. Hence the World Zarathushti Chamber of Commerce was formed in the year 2000, to facilitate networking, enhance Trade and Commerce and re-energise the Entrepreneurial Spirit in the community in order to bring about economic prosperity to all Zarathushtis worldwide. Since last few years financial assistance programs are also in place for businessmen and professionals to either start new businesses or expand existing ones. This facility is offered by India and the USA subject to the applicant submitting certain documents and meeting the criterion laid down by WZCC.

Support to the Needy and the Aged
Welfare Programs for Mobeds
Mobeds are the glue that hold the community together. Prophet Zarathustra was himself a priest. Some of the attributes of a mobed are – ability to perform rituals, expand community ministry and outreach and come up with ideas to connect more with the community members. A mobed must be of pure disposition, have innate wisdom; know the scriptures and live a life deserving of a priest.
Dadar Athornan a charitable institute is the only seminary that provides Zoroastrian youth who hail from Athornan families completely gratis training in religious rites and rituals as well as arranges for their secular education in a school of repute.
Efforts are in place to ensure wellbeing of our mobeds, by laying down some guidelines for compensation for conducting religious ceremonies.
It is also pertinent to mention here that the focus is to develop Andheri Athornan Institute into a World Class Seminary for Higher Training of Mobeds.
Empowering the Youth
World Zoroastrian Congress
Just as the body needs nourishment, a community needs sustenance to keep its values and aspirations alive.
The World Zoroastrian Congress has served the purpose perfectly since 1960; reminding the Zoroastrians of their rich legacy, the zeal to go further and achieve higher.
The first World Zoroastrian Congress was held in 1960 by the Tehran Zoroastrian Anjuman. This remarkable event was not only a milestone, but became the driving force for subsequent Congresses that have taken place in various parts of the world so far. It was the first Congress that set an inspiring precedent for future Congresses.
The vision of each Congress is to bring the Zoroastrians from far corners of the globe together tied in socio-cultural ethos to promote solidarity. The Congress also endeavors to promote welfare and progress of individuals and the community as a whole. Each Congress presents an opportunity to the community to aim for higher goals, create a wider spectrum of prestige and leadership. Apart from these noble objectives, the Congress also seeks to create a database of the community by gathering information on the progress the community has made internationally.
Let us endeavour to make all Congresses an occasion to celebrate – a celebration of our rich past and what binds us together; celebration of the contribution of the community’s resilience and strength to the world. Let our gaze not only be backwards, but also forward. Let us wake up to a new dawn, a new zest for life that will illuminate our future, so that success stories can be told with pride to our next generation. Let us salute to the spirit of Zoroastrianism.
